Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :Welcome to Guwahati

Upon arrival, you will be greeted and picked up by our team from the arrival point. You will then be transferred to the pre booked hotel.

Today’s sightseeing includes Assam State Museum where you can take a closer look at the culture and traditions of Assam. Later, you can enjoy the sunset cruise on Brahmaputra river (on direct payment).

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 :Guwahati Sightseeing and Departure

Start early and visit the holy Kamakhya temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country located at Nilachal Hill. It is recommended to purchase a VIP pass from the temple counter in order to avoid long queues

You can also visit and offer prayers to the temples which are close to Kamakhya Temple at Nilachal Hill including Dhumavati Temple, Tripureswari Temple, Maa Tara Temple, Maa Kali Temple, Maa Chhinnamasta Temple, Maa Bagala Temple, Maa Bhubaneswari Temple and Maa Banadurga Temple.

After completing Darshan, proceed to Umananda temple, located around 7 kilometers from Kamakhya temple. You can also stroll through the streets of Fancy Bazaar and enjoy shopping (If time permits).

Afterwards, you will be dropped off at the departure point (Railway station/Airport) to proceed your journey back to home.

Note:

  • In order to offer a special ritual or puja at Kamakhya temple, inform us a day prior so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
  • Every year during the period of Ambubachi, the Kamakhya temple remains closed i.e from 22 June - 25 June.
  • When the temple reopens, a big ceremony named Ambubachi Mela is held. The Mela goes on for a week making the temple premises and local streets extremely crowded. Therefore, plan your trip accordingly.
  • Ambubachi Mela dates: 26 June - 03 July.
